The Mattachine Society of Washington, D.C.

The Mattachine Society of Washington, D.C. conducts archive activism–identifying, conserving and interpreting the LGBTQ historical record. The MSDC is organized and approved for charitable and educational purposes as a 501(c)(3) of the IRS code, and is incorporated as a non-profit corporation in the District of Columbia.

The ONE Archives Foundation

Founded in 1952 as ONE Inc., the publisher of ONE Magazine, ONE Archives Foundation is the oldest active LGBTQ organization in the United States and today acts as the independent community partner supporting the largest repository of LGBTQ materials in the world. The organization is dedicated to promoting this important resource through diverse activities including educational initiatives, fundraising, and range of public programs.


The Invisible Histories Project

The Invisible Histories Project locates, preserves, researches, and creates for local communities an accessible collection of the rich and diverse history of LGBTQ life in the US South. Currently, IHP collects in Alabama, Mississippi and Georgia. IHP acts as an intermediary between the Queer community and various institutions like universities, museums, archives, and libraries in order to preserve Southern LGBTQ histories.


The Rainbow History Project

Rainbow History Project’s mission is to collect, preserve and promote the history and culture of the LGBTQ community in metropolitan Washington, D.C. Rainbow History’s physical collection of documents, manuscripts and photographs has its home at the DC History Center, and its online archives contain more than 1,400 searchable items.


The Southwest Virginia LGBTQ+ History Project

The Southwest Virginia LGBTQ+ History Project is a community-based history initiative committed to researching and telling the stories of LGBTQ individuals and organizations in their region.
